Rotary Club plans Riverboat event
The Rotary Club of King George–Dahlgren, which recently celebrated its first anniversary, is planning its first fundraiser, “A Great Night Out!”
The event will be held on Nov. 16 at the Riverboat on the Potomac in Colonial Beach from 6 p.m. to midnight. The $40 cost includes a roast beef dinner with Alfredo veggie pasta and a show. The Famous Dueling Pianos, as seen at National Harbor’s Bobby McKey’s, will perform.
The event is business casual attire and for adults only. It includes a cash bar and a silent and live auction with items such as sporting event tickets, gift certificates to restaurants, YMCA memberships and vacation trips.
The club has 22 members and meets at noon on Wednesdays at the University of Mary Washington, Dahlgren campus. President Holly Graf and Vice President Chuck Davidson led the effort to recruit, organize and charter the club.
Members have participated in Rotary International’s global fight to end polio, cleaned county roads and donated more than 3,000 children’s books for Sealston Elementary School’s reading room.
Money raised from the Great Night Out! will go to the club’s ongoing mission to support education in King George County. More information is available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
