LOVEwork sculptures coming to Northern Neck
Ma Margaret’s House B&B and Northern Neck Farm Museum, a five-county regional museum that tells the story of agriculture in the Northern Neck, have been chosen by Virginia Tourism Corporation as two of 16 sites across the state to build and promote a giant LOVEwork sculpture.
The sculptures are the focal point of a social media campaign to share the message that LOVE is at the heart of every Virginia vacation. The Northern Neck will join 20 other existing LOVEwork sculptures found across the state featured here as part of the Virginia is for Lovers tourism marketing campaign.
Visitors to Ma Margaret’s House B&B and Northern Neck Farm Museum will be encouraged to take a picture with the LOVEwork sculptures and share on social media sites.
Ma Margaret’s House B&B and the Farm Museum will host several events. The first is a contest among Northumberland High School students who will compete to design the winning concept. A gallery reception, display of student designs and judging will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. at Northumberland High School.
A giant-sized structure of the two winning models will be constructed by the Northern Neck Technical Center and an unveiling of each is scheduled for April 6 on the grounds of Ma Margaret’s House B&B in Reedville and the Farm Museum in Burgess. All events connected are free and open to the public.
