Brabo has town hall on Thursday

Dahlgren District Supervisor Ruby Brabo plans her first town hall meeting of 2013 on Thursday, Jan. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dahlgren campus of the University of Mary Washington. The building is behind the Walmart, off U.S. 301.

Topics to be discussed included:

• An update on Dominion Power’s new substation and its plans for a vegetative landscape.
• Capt. Pete Nette, commanding officer for Naval Support Activity South Potomac, will talk about upcoming Joint Land Use Study and the Navy base’s 95th anniversary celebration.
• Ken Novell, Dahlgren District’s School Board representative, will give an update on school happenings.
• A question-answer session as time allows.
