James Howard will run again
James Howard, who attended his first King George Board of Supervisors meeting last night in three years, said today that he will run for re-election in November.
Howard had served 13 years on the Board of Supervisors and four on the School Board when he lost in November 2009 to John LoBuglio. It was a close-fought three-way race, and LoBuglio defeated the incumbent by 88 votes.
Howard suggested a few months ago that he was considering trying to win back the James Monroe District seat on the board.
He confirmed that this morning.
“ I just felt like I wanted to get back in it,” Howard said. “I think it’s a public-service type job.”
Last night, Howard was greeted by supervisors, county employees and members of the public.
They gathered around as he talked excitedly about plans to attend the BCS National Championship Game on Monday—and root for Notre Dame.
“I know all those folks,” Howard said Thursday. “I’ve been around a long time.”
