Farmers Market has Holly Jolly event tomorrow
The third annual Holly Jolly Local Holiday Market is Saturday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the King George Elementary School.
The Farmers Market event includes a number of artists and artisans inside the school cafeteria and farmers and their products outside.
A bonfire and pot of cooked greens served with cornbread is offered for breakfast for free. Coffee and hot cocoa are available for a small donation.
Local musicians will provide entertainment. The Miller Brothers, Austin and Marc, (both former members of the band Who Took Fred?) will kick things off with original songs and Christmas songs at 9 a.m.
At 10 a.m., Carrie Gonzales will perform Christmas carols, and the King George High School chorus will carol to raise funds from from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
New this year, Fancy’s Friends 4-H Dog Club will host a gift-wrapping table for holiday purchases as well as a bake sale.
Two local cheese producers, Marshall Farms of Unionville and Everona Dairy from Rapidan, will offer their goods. They’ll be joined by vendors offering beef, oysters, produce, jams and jellies and baked goods.
