St. Paul’s concert Sunday kicks off holiday season
On Sunday, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will present its autumn Masterworks concert. The “Evening of Advent and Christmas Music” will include the masterpiece “Magnificat” by Sir Charles Villiers Sanford and several carols accompanied by pipe organ, piano and harp.
The children of the junior and youth Masterworks choruses directed by Kara Pekar, will sing the first half of the concert followed by the adult chorus, directed by Jeannine Richardson.
Stephanie Niepraschk and student Rachel Wright will be the pianists for the children. The adults will be joined by guest organist Joan Gurniak and harpist Stephanie Weberg.
A free-will offering will be taken to benefit this community outreach program.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Choirmaster Jeannine Richardson called it a “wonderful way to usher in the advent season.”
St. Paul’s Church is at 5486 St. Paul’s Road and is handicapped accessible.
