Hazardous waste accepted Saturday

The King George Landfill will hold its twice yearly hazardous waste day on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the main facility off State Route 3.

Residents will have a chance to get rid of all types of waste, from paint and aerosol cans to computer equipment.

The disposal day is open to all homeowners—but not businesses—in the county. Residents must be prepared to show their identification.

Items accepted include:

• Old paint
• Aerosol cans
• Kerosene
• Insecticides
• Motor oil
• Fertilizers
• Swimming pool chemicals
• Unused household cleaners
• Computer equipment
