YMCA plans second “Tri 4 Wesley” event
The King George Family YMCA will have its second annual “Tri 4 Wesley” youth triathlon on Sept. 15, 2012. The event will raise money for the American Cancer Society.
Wesley Berry, a rising senior at King George High School, has been dealing with a brain tumor since he was 12. He and family members started a “Win 4 Wesley” team to raise money because Wesley said he wanted to help find a cure for the disease that struck him five years ago.
Registration is currently open. The fee is $30 for individuals and $45 for teams. There are two age groups: a shorter course for ages 6 to 10 and a longer course for those 11 to 14.
There also will be a biathlon for ages 3 to 5, who will ride their bikes and run. That fee is $20.
T-shirts are included. The triathlon starts at 8:30 a.m., the biathlon at 9:30 am.
More information is available at the King George YMCA at 775-9622. Here’s the registration form.
