Ralph Bunche committee moving forward
Ruby Brabo and John LoBuglio will represent the Board of Supervisors on the Ralph Bunche Advisory Board.
Next month, county officials will present a charter for the group, which will look at uses for the old school, seek funding resources, develop a timeline and present a recommendation to the supervisors.
In mid-May, more than 100 members of the Ralph Bunche Alumni Association packed the board meeting room to show support for restoring the school. One of the things the group hoped to accomplish by July 31 was to establish a new advisory committee composed of supervisors, alumni, county staff and community members.
The alumni group also would like to see the building cleaned. Various departments have used the school over the years and left behind boxes of old papers, broken computers and other dilapidated equipment.
Here’s a link to a May 17 story about the group’s efforts.
