Reaves new pastor at Trinity UMC
The Rev. Susan M. Reaves has been appointed to pastor Trinity United Methodist Church in King George. She previously served as pastor of High Street United Methodist Church in Franklin, Va.
Sunday was her first day in the pulpit at Trinity.
Reaves was born in Sacramento, grew up in California and Maryland, and is a graduate of the University of Virginia where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English. She graduated summa cum laude from the School of Theology at Drew University in 1999.
Like Rev. Finn-McKenzie who preceded her at Trinity, she is part of a pastoral team. Her husband, Michael Reaves, is also a United Methodist minister and is the new pastor at Fletcher’s Chapel. They will reside in the Fletcher’s Chapel parsonage.
The Reaves have two daughters. The oldest, Michelle Reaves Taylor, is married to Ryan Taylor and lives in Fredericksburg. Their younger daughter, Rachel Reaves, will be a junior at the University of Mary Washington in the fall.
