Farmers market plans Community Day Saturday
The King George Farmers Market plans its first Community Day of the 2012 season on Saturday.
Vendors will be selling produce of all varieties, beef, fish, oysters and crabs, breads, baked goods and jams.
Community groups invited to attend include NSWC Federal Credit Union, King George Animal Rescue League and the Master Gardeners Plant Clinic. The King George Moms’ Group will host a special activity for kids of all ages. And, by popular demand, Carl Sisemore, woodcarver, will be the featured artist.
Market manager DeLaura Padovan reminds customers there’s still time to join the $10 pledge plan. Those who spend $10 a week for 10 weeks earn an invitation to the Feast in the Field in October.
