Market opens Saturday, includes vendors from Westmoreland
King George Farmers Market opens on Saturday with 24 vendors, including growers, producers and bakers from Westmoreland County for the first time.
The market opens at 8 a.m. in the parking lot at King George Elementary School and lasts until noon. The list of vendors, see below, includes those selling baked goods and eggs, seafood and beef, and fruits and vegetables, spices and herbs.
King George Farmers Market cookbooks, with 300 recipes from residents and growers, for $10. The market also will continue its $10 for 10 program. Shoppers purchase a card for $10, then spend $10 a week for 10 weeks over the season, and they’re invited to a “Farmers’ Feast in the Field” in October.
