French club walks for cystic fibrosis
The King George High School French club organized a team for the Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides walk Saturday in Fredericksburg to help raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Jessica Healy, French club teacher oversees the team, which has participated in the walk for two years. The team, named Fleur de Lys, walks in honor of Lilly Heller, the teacher’s 3-year-old cousin who has cystic fibrosis.
This year the team raised more than $1,000. Team members included Joann Melton, a parent, Ruby Brabo, a member of the King George Board of Supervisors, Rebecca Melton, Virginia Melton, Loni Mason, Collin Owen, Kimi Howell, Devon Neff, Amy Southall, Emma Ferguson, Lauren Hornbaker, Jenny Moran, Gabrielle Patterson, Ian Koepfinger, Chase Renz and Drake Gwyn.
