Relay for Life May 19
The King George Relay for Life will be held May 19 at King George Middle School and feature a number of bands and special events.
The King George High School drum line will be part of the opening ceremonies, set at noon. DJ Rick Fortner will announce events throughout the day.
A reception for survivors will be held at 12:30 p.m., and a luminaria ceremony at 9 p.m. In between, music will be provided by Rivertown Bandits, Olive Eyes, Southern Exposure, Made in the USA, Phillis Jones, James Curry, Incondite and Who Took Fred. More information is available at nswcfcu.org.
According to the website, King Geoge has 404 participants and 38 teams in this year’s relay. As of Monday morning, members had raised $53,894.
At the top of the list of teams was Win 4 Wesley with $4,317, followed by The Willy Chodacs with $3,341, and NSWC Federal Credit Union with $3,133.
Top participants are Wesley Berry with $3,967, Maggie McDaniel with $1,349 and Rachael Foster with $1,089.
