Half-marathon set Sunday on Dahlgren trail
On Sunday, 125 racers will run the Dahlgren Trail Half-Marathon from 8 a.m. to noon.
The race is full and has as many runners as the trail can accommodate, according to the Race Timing Unlimited website.
The race will begin at the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail’s trail head on State Route 605. Runners will run past mile post 6.5, then head back to the trail head.
The runners will cross public roads twice, on Lambs Creek Church Road and Comorn Road. On Friday, the King George County Alert sent out a message advising motorists to be on the alert for the runners.
The race will award cash prizes to the top five men and women finishers overall and gift certificates to the top three men and women racers in various age groups.
