Trinity’s youth group presents Christmas play
Trinity United Methodist Church, on Route 3 across from The Opp Shop, will present the youth group’s annual Christmas play on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 5 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. Admission is free.
“Grandma’s Mouse Tale,” a play for all ages, especially children, will be performed. All the characters in the play are animals. Grandma Mouse tells a story to her grandchildren of Great-Great-Grandma Mouse when she crawled into a barn one night to get warm.
She meets a cow, a donkey, a camel and some sheep who begin to sing and dance, telling the story of the night when Jesus was born in their stable.
All the actors in the play are members of the youth group, except for Debbie Shelkey-Lawson, the youth group leader who takes on the role of Grandma Mouse.
“The teenagers have added their own spin to the play by adding choreography, additional music and some humor,” she said. “The play is very cute.”
