Got an interest in new power lines? There’s a committee for that

Anyone interested in serving on a committee, formed by Dominion Virginia Power, to gather input about its proposed high-voltage power line to the Dahlgren Navy base?

The utility already has selected a number of King George residents for the committee, but anyone who’s got a powerful interest in the group can contact County Administrator Travis Quesenberry at 775-9181.

Dominion wants to build an overhead, 10-mile long, 230-kilovolt transmission line from an existing line on State Route 3 to Dahlgren. The project is estimated to cost about $30 million, and Dominion hopes to have it installed by May 2014.
