Races help victims of domestic violence
The King George Domestic Violence Task Force is sponsoring its second annual Domestic Violence Awareness 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on May 7 at 8 a.m.
Proceeds will benefit victims of domestic violence and their children.
Both races will begin and end at the King George YMCA. The 5K Run will be certified and professionally timed. The Fun Run is for children ages 14 and under.
Cash awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each event, and gift certificates will be given in each age division in both races. All Fun Run finishers will receive a medal.
Registration is $20 for the 5K Run/Walk and $10 for the Fun Run. Registration forms are available at at Rappahannock Area YMCA. Participants also can purchase t-shirts.
