Spring Fling happens April 9
The 19th annual Dahlgren Lions Club Spring Fling, which combines a flea market with a health fair, will be held April 9 at the King George Citizens Center, next to the firehouse on State Route 3 in King George.
The free event includes the flea market, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., as well as health, fitness, and safety information and screenings for the citizens of the King George area. The health fair lasts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For the fifth year, the King George Parks and Recreation Department joins the Lions in coordinating the Spring Fling’s health fair. In addition to the Lion’s sight and hearing screenings, the local health and safety community will provide various health screenings along with fitness and safety information.
Residents can meet local doctors and members of health-related organizations, get information on programs for seniors, check for safe installation of child car seats, and get free blood pressure checks. There are also games for children.
All money raised from the flea market will be used to support Lions efforts locally and elsewhere in the nation. More information is available by calling 540/538-6415 or 540/775-4386.
