Busy budget sessions
County officials will be busy this week with work sessions on the budget.
Sessions are planned on Monday and Thursday, and both begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday’s session is at King George Fire and Rescue’s Co. 1 headquarters and will include an update on the redistricting process as well. Thursday’s session is in the board room of the Revercomb Administration Center.
Constitutional officers are expected to present their budgets this week, and County Administrator Travis Quesenberry will offer his proposal for 2011–2012. Quesenberry’s proposal does not give raises to county workers, but includes information on the cost of various increases, including one-time bonuses. Meanwhile, the School Board’s proposal does include a 2-percent raise for school workers, but the school budget has not been approved by the Board of Supervisors.
