The King George Farmers Market does and will serve up a big pot of them, along with cornbread, on Saturday, Dec. 11, during the Shop Local Holiday Market. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at King George Elementary School.
The lunch of greens and cornbread is free.
The holiday market features items raised, grown or produced in the county.
As part of the celebration, the farmers market is featuring a fund-raiser Christmas package that will be given away on Dec. 11. It includes a Christmas tree from Slater’s Farm, a wreath from Friendly Cottage Farm, a dried flower arrangement from Harrison Farm and other produce and baked goods.
Tickets are $5 each or three for $10 and can be purchased only on Dec. 11. Winner must be present to win.
In other farm market news, Ed and Sylvia Hudson, won the second Mason Jar Quilt.
