Tornado warning in effect
The National Weather Service in Sterling has issued a tornado warning for southeastern King George County until 5:30 p.m.
At 4:32 today, radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado over central Caroline County, about three miles northwest of Bowling Green. The storm was moving east/northeat at 35 miles per hour. Locations near the path of the tornado include: Jersey, Rollins Fork, Shiloh andNinde.
The Weather Service cautions residents to take cover, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building and avoid windows.
If outdoors or in a mobile home or vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
