Black History event honors Tyler
King George County’s annual celebration of Black History Month was held on Saturday at King George Middle School and was a success, supervisors said last night.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People honored Elmore Tyler, a Dahlgren resident who’s involved in countless community activities.
Supervisor Cedell Brooks Jr. served as emcee and also demonstrated some other talents, fellow members said.
“I really don’t understand why more don’t come,” said Supervisor James Mullen, “just to see Cedell sing and dance.”
