Life-and-death issues

The King George Board of Supervisors deals with some life-and-death issues, literally.

During Wednesday night’s budget hearing, Supervisor Cedell Brooks got an important call. He owns Cedell brooks Funeral Home in Port Royal and had just gotten word about a death. He tried to handle the issue through texting–and told the rest of the board he was listening to the discussion about next year’s budget–as he typed a message on his phone.

Chairman Joe Grzeika suggested the board recess for a few minutes so Brooks could take care of business.
