It was a nice idea

Even though no one came to King George’s “warming shelter” Monday night, after a storm dumped almost a foot of snow on the county, supervisors were glad it was open.

The shelter is in the County Citizen Center, off State Route 3 across from the Food Lion.

As a “warming shelter,” it’s available to people who need to get out of the cold, but it does not serve meals. People need to bring their own food.
