Second girl’s death unrelated to Alexis Murphy tragedy

The Lynchburg News & Advance is reporting that the December death of a teen-age girl in that area was due to hypothermia, meaning that it is believed to have been an accident and thus unrelated to the death of 17-year-old Alexis Murphy months earlier.

Alexis’ case is being treated as a homicide and a suspect, Randy Allen Taylor, awaits trial.

Jamisha Monique Gilbert, 18, of Lynchburg was found dead in December, about two miles away from her car that had wrecked.

Taylor has been charged with abduction and murder though Alexis’ body has not been found. She disappeared from Nelson County last summer.

People can get disoriented from a wreck, even when they’re not badly injured.

What was she running from ? The medical examiners report paints the picture of a person running terrified through thick brush naked and covered in over 300 cuts including deep puncture wounds in her feet.
