Trying to eat well during the holidays and beyond?
If you’d like a motivational boost to help you enjoy the holiday season without overindulging in fatty foods, mark Dec. 4 on your calendar. That evening, three people with expertise in cultivating a healthy lifestyle will share their wisdom during a community event sponsored by Healthy Life Virginia.
Speakers at the 7 p.m. event include:
- Dr. Nimali Fernando, of the Doctor Yum Project, who’s well known in the Fredericksburg area for sharing healthy shopping, cooking and snacking strategies through her classes and website.
- Caroline County resident Becky Tate, who was featured recently in The Free Lance-Star for managing to lose—and keep off—more than 130 pounds after committing to regular exercise and a healthy diet.
- Registered dietitian Nancy Farrell, of Farrell Dietitian Services in Fredericksburg, who frequently shares her practical dietary wisdom with readers of The Free Lance-Star and Healthy Life Virginia.
The event, which will include a Q/A session with the speakers, will be held at the John F. Fick III Conference Center behind the Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic on the Mary Washington Hospital campus.
