Medicine recalls, possible mix-ups
In case you missed it: Problems at a drug manufacturing plant have led to the recall of some popular over-the-counter medicines, including Excedrin headache relief pills and Bufferin, NoDoz and Gas-X products.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration warned this week that some of the over-the-counter drugs may have been packaged with prescription painkillers, including Percocet, that are manufactured at the same plant. Also, some pills may be broken or chipped.
Visit www.fda.gov and click on “recalls & alerts” for a full list of the recalled products. Here’s a partial list: Excedrin Sinus Headache Caplets, Excedrin Extra Strength Tablets, Excedrin Migraine Express Gel Caplets, Bufferin Regular Strength Tablets, Gas-X Prevention Caplets and NoDoz Maximum Strength Caplets.
