ALL-AREA TRACK CAPSULES

SHARNEA BROWN

James Monroe sophomore

Brown was the Group 3A triple jump state champion and also ran a leg for the Yellow Jackets’ state championship 400-meter relay team.

 

AMIAYA CAREY

Stafford senior

Carey brought home a state title for the Indians, clearing 5–7 in the high jump to win the 6A championship. She was second in the region in the event.

 

SABRINA JOHNSON

Stafford senior

Johnson was the area’s best thrower this year, finishing second in the discus and third in the shot in all of 6A. She won the 6A–South region title in the discus.

 

 

CRYSTAL JONES

Colonial Forge junior

Jones was the Conference 4 high jump, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles champion. She finished second at the 6A state meet in the high jump.

 

 

LAUREN GRAVES

Mountain View sophomore

Graves won 5A–North and Conference 15 pole vault titles. She cleared 10–6 to finish fourth at the Group 5A state championship meet.

 

 

MIRANDA GREEN

King George senior

The Conference 22 1,600 and 800 champion, Green placed second in the 1,600 and third in the 800 in the region, and third in the state in the 1,600.

 

 

MEGAN REBHOLZ

Colonial Forge senior

A standout distance runner throughout her career, Rebholz ran to a third-place finish in the 3,200 at both the 6A–South and 6A state championships.

 

 

MESHALA MORTON

Mountain View senior

Morton capped her stellar career with 5A state titles in the 100 and 200 meters. She was the 5A–North 100-meter region champion and won Conference 15 titles in the 100, 200, 400 and long jump.

 

BOYS

JOEY ABBATIELLO

Stafford senior

The Conference 4 1,600-meter champion, Abbatiello was also third at the 6A–South region championships in the distance event.

 

 

RAESHAWN BISHOP

Louisa senior

Bishop was the Group 4A state triple jump champion and fifth in the long jump. He won the 4A–North region titles in both the long jump and triple jump.

 

DEL’QUAN CAMPBELL

North Stafford senior

Campbell captured the Group 5A state 300 hurdles champion and was sixth in the 110 hurdles. He won the Conference 15 title in the 400 meters.

 

 

JONATHAN GRAHAM

King George junior

Graham was Group 4A’s second-place finisher in the pole vault, clearing 14–6 at the state meet. He was third in the 4A–North and the Conference 22 champion.

 

 

KYLER JOURDAN

Courtland 

Jourdan was one of the area’s most consistent middle-distance runners this year. He won the Conference 22 title in the 800 and was fourth in all of 4A.

 

 

NAUKYM MORTON

North Stafford sophomore

Morton won three 5A–North region titles—in the 100, the 400 and the 200. He won Conference 15 titles in both the 100 and 200.

 

 

AASON PANKEY

Caroline senior

Pankey won four Conference 20 titles—finishing first in the 200, 400, long jump and triple jump. He was the Group 4A state high jump champion.

 

 

JOE CLINE

Brooke Point senior

Cline was the area’s best thrower this spring, and among the state’s best, too. He won the 5A shot title with a throw of 55–7 and was second in the discus. He swept shot and discus titles at both the 5A North and Conference 15 meets.

 

 

CHRIS FARMER

North Stafford

Farmer’s boys team continued their recent roll, capturing the Conference 15 and the 5A–North region team titles. The Wolverines’ boys team also finished fifth in the state.
