ALL-AREA TENNIS CAPSULES

DYLAN CHRISTENSEN

Culpeper junior

Christensen was the first Culpeper tennis player to earn a state tournament berth since 2010. He was the Conference 27 and 3A East runner-up.

 

THOMAS GEANEY

Colonial Forge junior

Geaney compiled a sterling 15–1 singles record at No. 2 for the Eagles and teamed with fellow first-teamer Blake Sharp to go 15–1 in doubles play.

 

CHRISTIAN KRAWCZYK

Brooke Point senior

Krawczyk led Brooke Point to the Conference 15 team title. He was No. 2 in the conference singles race and No. 1 (with teammate Tristan Hume) in doubles.

 

BLAKE SHARP

Colonial Forge senior

The Eagles’ No. 1 seeded player finished the year with a 14–2 record. He was also 15–1 at No. 1 doubles. Sharp will play at Shenandoah University.

 

RYAN TRUONG

Riverbend senior

Spent all four years in the top six, working his way up from the No. 5 singles position as a freshman to play at No. 1 this year. A quiet leader that finished 13–5 in singles and 14–3 at No. 1 doubles.

 

WALT MAHON

James Monroe senior

A 2013 doubles state champion, Mahon compiled a sterling 20–3 mark this year in singles play. He was the Conference 27 and 3A East champion, advancing to the state semifinals.

 

NATALIE BOHMKE

Stafford senior

Bohmke was undefeated during the regular season at No. 2 singles for the Indians, and formed half of Stafford’s one-loss No. 1 doubles pairing.

 

 

LUCY CASTLES

James Monroe freshman

The Yellow Jackets’ No. 1 seed was the Conference 27 champion in singles and doubles, and advanced to the 3A East singles semifinals.

 

 

ASHLEY PROSSER

Chancellor senior

Prosser ended her strong high school career with a 12–4 regular season. She advanced to the Conference 22 finals and earned a 4A North bid.

 

JESSICA SUDDRETH

Colonial Forge sophomore

After a strong freshman year, Suddreth moved up to No. 1 for Forge and had a good year. She was

10–4 during the regular season in singles play.

 

KELSEY TRUONG

Riverbend freshman

Truong compiled a 10–5 record as Riverbend’s No. 1 in her first varsity season, holding her own against some of Conference 4’s top opponents.

 

JOSEPHINE GRESKO

Stafford freshman

In her first varsity season, Gresko cruised through a one-loss regular season. She earned 6A South tournament berths in both singles and doubles with teammate Natalie Bohmke.

 

 

APRIL DILLOW

Brooke Point

It was the best season in school history for girls tennis at Brooke Point. Dillow’s charges won the Conference 15 title and earned a 5A North bid.

 

JOSH KLINE

Colonial Forge

Kline’s Eagles delivered on high preseason expectations, picking up the Conference 4 title and winning a match in the first round of the 6A South tourney.
