HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Amos, Berg pace Chargers to win

Maddie Amos and Alex Berg recorded two goals and an assist apiece to lead the Chancellor girls soccer team to a 7–0 victory over Caroline on Friday night.

Michelle Bezeredi, Aly Christman and Essence Jones scored one goal each for the Chargers (2–3–1), who play Fauquier April 29.

 

BASEBALL

EASTERN VIEW 2, EAST WAKE 1

Starting pitcher David Laird threw a complete game and struck out eight batters to help Eastern View to a win in the Pitt County Classic.

Luke Easter had two hits and an RBI and Chayton Lukkes recorded a hit and a stolen base for the Cyclones (5–4), who play Washington High today.

Sean Redmond struck out five batters over seven innings to lead the Knights to a victory.

Erick Woodard tallied two hits with Dylan Luttrell and Logan Chandler picking up two hits apiece for Spotsylvania (5–2), which visits Brentsville Friday.

Jake Haney had two hits and Trevor Coleman recorded a double and an RBI for Orange (2–6), which visits Culpeper Monday.
