HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Sobus, Leaf goals help Bears get win

Anna Sobus and Rachael Leaf each tallied to lead Riverbend to a 2–0 girls soccer win over visiting Brooke Point on Thursday.

Rachuel Tritt added an assist for the Bears (2–2), who host Mountain View on Tuesday.

Lauren Harrison had 14 saves in net for Brooke Point.

GIRLS SOCCER

MOUNTAIN VIEW 8, POTOMAC 2

Melanie Lytle scored three goals and Erika Tomayko two as the Wildcats picked up a Conference 15 win.

Karli Beaumont, Olivia Bolton and Amari Hopkins also had goals for Mountain View (6–1, 2–0), which plays at Riverbend on Tuesday.

 

BOYS SOCCER

GLEN ALLEN 5, CAROLINE 1

Joel Tidman scored for Caroline which went into halftime tied 1–1 before visiting Glen Allen pulled away. Devon Wienand had a solid game in goal for the Cavaliers (0–4).

 

GIRLS LACROSSE

STAFFORD 7, MOUNTAIN VIEW 5

Sydney Ostrum, Rachel Riley and Haley–Anne Parish each scored twice and goalie Mikaela Brooks totaled 15 saves for Stafford to help the Indians get a 7–5 girls lacrosse win over visiting Mountain View on Thursday.

Morgan Everitt also scored and Parish added an assists, while Kelly Corsano and Taylor Hoppe led the defense for the Indians (2–3), who visit Hylton today.

NORTH STAFFORD 9, BROOKE POINT 3

Emily Murray, Sarabeth Bown and Kristen Edwards each scored twice to lead North Stafford to a home win.

Ali Baker added a goal and an assist for the Wolverines, who host Stafford on Monday.

 

BOYS LACROSSE

MOUNTAIN VIEW 11, STAFFORD 2

Zach Randberger recorded four goals to help Mountain View remain undefeated.

Josh Donahue tallied three goals and Janson Doyle added two goals for the Wildcats (4–0), who host Colonial Forge on Monday.

NORTH STAFFORD 20, BROOKE POINT 10

Connor Bolen had six goals and Jacob Woodard five to help North Stafford get a win.

Tommy Davis also scored and goalie Kevon Brooks made seven saves behind a defense led by Caleb Hunter (five ground balls) for the Wolverines (4–1, 4–0), who visit Stafford on Monday.

Mike King led Brooke Point with five goals and two assists, while Ryan Schott had three goals and one assist.

Robbie Ryan (one goal, one assists), Orlando Levin (one goal) and Devon Weaver (one assists) also contributed to the scoring for the Black–Hawks (2–2), who visit Potomac today.

COLONIAL FORGE 13, WOODBRIDGE 4

Clay Miller scored five goals and had four assists to lead Colonial Forge to a win.

Kyle Carnaghi and Koa Patton netted three goals each and Jake Maupin added a goal for the Eagles (4–0), who visit Mountain View on Monday.
