GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Foxes top Knights; Bears get sixth win

King George’s girls basketball team rattled off a 20-point fourth quarter, pulling away from Spotsylvania for a 47–27 win on Tuesday.

Christian Porter had 13 points to lead the Knights, who host Eastern View on Friday.

Spotsylvania standout Kortni Simmons did not play because of an injury.

RIVERBEND 73, NORTH STAFFORD 32

Lainey Harmon led the way for the Bears with 23 points, including a season-high six 3-pointers, in their win over North Stafford.

Candice Beverly scored 17 points to go with six rebounds for the Bears, who visit Courtland today.

China Window had a team-high 17 for North Stafford.

Kiara Williams scored 12 points and Gabby Michalick hit two 3-pointers for the Cougars, who host Riverbend today.

Brianne Stephenson tallied nine points and Cara Lambert added eight points for James Monroe, which hosts Brentsville today.

Emily Conroe had 27 points and 20 rebounds and Faith Baptist went on a 29–1 run in the second quarter en route to a home win.

Amy Goosman also posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Ashlynn Morgan added eight steals and four blocks for the Conquerors, who host Leesburg Christian on Friday.

Stafford outscored Brooke Point 20–6 in the final quarter to erase a five-point deficit heading into the frame to get a victory on the road.

Kendall Parker had a game-high 18 points for the Indians.

The Black–Hawks were led by Rachael Payne (17 rebounds), Shalah Smiling (eight rebounds), Valerie Poole (seven steals, four assists) and Alandra Bandy (five assists, four rebounds).

On Friday, Brooke Point hosts Colonial Forge and Stafford visits Riverbend.
