GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Harris’ big night leads Chargers

Jayla Harris scored a career-high 31 points and added five assists for Chancellor, as the Chargers pulled away in the fourth quarter to remain unbeaten in conference play with a 70–45 girls basketball win against King George on Friday night.

Rachon Harrison added 14 points and 11 assists, and Sydney Jackson provided 12 points and 10 boards for the Chargers, who visit Caroline on Tuesday.

Massaponax rallied back from a seven-point halftime deficit for a Commonwealth District win.

Alexis Willis led the Panthers with 14 points, eight assists and four steals, while Emma Grosskopf and Sabrina Jones each pulled down nine rebounds.

Valerie Poole led the Black–Hawks with 15 points.

Massaponax is back in action tonight against Stafford, while Brooke Point hosts Colonial Beach on Monday.
