HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Wildcats, Eagles have perfect days

Mountain View’s wrestling team was 5–0 on Saturday at the Charger Duals at Chantilly High School.

The Wildcats posted wins over Chantilly (35–27), Cox (52–19), Landstown (53–16), Langley (75–3) and Tabb (59–6).

Six Mountain View wrestlers were unbeaten on the day—Josue Beltran Jr. (120), Trevor Watkins (138), Russell Ramsey (152), Jared Swan (170), Zuriel Yi (182) and Brandon Frazier (195). Swan won all five of his matches by pin.

 

MARINES.COM BATTLEFIELD DUALS

Colonial Forge was a perfect 5–0 at their home meet, turning in wins over Westfield (56–16), Christiansburg (49–16), Dominion (78–0), Brentsville (52–15) and Matoaca (46–22).

The Eagles upper weights dominated—Colonial Forge didn’t lose a match at 160, 170, 182, 195 or 220. Adam Sinnott, Anthony Carter, Robert Winters, Chris Carter and Patrick Grayson were all 4–0 at those weights.

Marc Garofalo (106) and Josh Nail (120) were also unbeaten.

 

NICK MASON MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT

Three Chancellor wrestlers earned titles at the King George tournament this weekend.

Joe Cafiero (132), Mark Weinstock (138) and Joe Kreider (152) each won their respective weight classes.

Chancellor placed fourth as a team.

 

RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE AT WEST POTOMAC

Riverbend was fifth in the 22-team tournament on Saturday.

Xzavier Darensbourg won with 145-pound title while 160-pounder Alex Miller placed second.
