HIGH SCHOOLS: Brooke Point comes up short in final

Julian Swinton had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Brooke Point boys basketball team and was named the Snowball Classic Most Outstanding Player, but the Black–Hawks fell to Hereford (Md.), 55–47, in Saturday’s championship game in Oakland, Md.

Brooke Point held an eight-point lead at the half, but ran into foul trouble as the Bulls went on a 19–7 run in the third quarter to take a four-point lead en route to the win.

Omari Williams added 12 points and nine boards and was named to the all-tournament team for Brooke Point.

The Black–Hawks return to action on Friday when they pay a visit to Commonwealth District rival Riverbend.
