HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Fisher, Wildcats claim tournament

E.J. Fisher scored the game-winning points on a layup with one second on the clock to give the Mountain View boys basketball team a 38–36 victory over Lee in the championship of the Joe Cascio Tournament played at Falls Church High School on Monday night.

Luke Adams had 11 points to lead the Wildcats, who host Massaponax on Thursday.

WRESTLING

AI duPONT TIGER CLASSIC

Mountain View finished third out of 10 teams in in the tournament held in Wilmington, Del. on Friday and Saturday.

Trevor Watkins (138), Russell Ramsey (152), Jared Swan (170) and Zuriel Yi (170) each finished 3–0, while Josue Beltran Jr. (120) went 3–1 to lead the Wildacts to 182.5 total points. Smyrna (Del.) came in first with 262 points, followed by Methacton (Pa.) with 188.

 

GIRLS BASKETBALL

CAROLINE 65, ESSEX 32

Tournament MVP Bo Hayes helped scored 23 points to help Caroline earn a win in the championship of its own tournament.

In the preceding the consolation game, King William topped Freedom, 48–39 in overtime.
