HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Gould helps Drifters win

Montie Gould tallied a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards to help Colonial Beach to a 44–29 boys basketball victory over visiting North Stafford on Friday night.

Keane Foster and West Virgil had 12 points each for the Drifters, who next play at Brooke Point on Jan. 6.

For North Stafford, Tony Washington had a team-high 10 points and Keyon Carter added five points.

Josh James scored 16 points to lead four Chancellor players in double-figure scoring in a win at county rival Courtland.

Terrell Robinson finished with 22 points and 18 rebounds for the Cougars, who host Fauquier today.

Anthony Howard came a rebound shy of a double-double with 21 points, nine boards and five steals to lead homestanding King George to the win.

Eian Chase scored 16 points and dished out four assists, and Jecolby White added eight points for the Foxes, who play Millbrook next Friday in the King George Holiday Tournament.

A.J. Derricott and Aason Pankey had 12 points each to lead Caroline.

Kortni Simmons netted a game-high 19 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead Spotsylvania to a 50–35 girls basketball win over visiting James Monroe on Friday.

Shatia Johnson had seven points and eight rebounds, and Ashlynn Green added six points and seven rebounds for the Knights, who play Chancellor Jan. 7.

Brianne Stephenson had 13 points and Monica Dit added eight points for the Yellow Jackets.

Melody Buckley scored 15 points and Kiara Williams had 13 points to lead Courtland.
