HIGH SCHOOLS: Falcons earn VISAA honors

Four Fredericksburg Academy athletes earned Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association all-state honors.

Senior Meghan Norair, a member of the Falcons’ back-to-back state champion field hockey squad, was named Division II player of the year. Fellow senior Allegra Massey Elim and sophomore Colleen Norair also earned first-team honors.

Senior Sam King was also chosen first-team all-state in girls tennis.

GIRLS BASKETBALL 

ST. MICHAEL’S 36, GRACE PREP SCHOOL 22

Caroline Parker had 17 points and six blocks to pace the homestanding Warriors to a season-opening Delaney Athletic Conference victory.

McKenzie Lane added 14 points for St. Michael’s (1–0), who’ll play a rematch on Grace Prep’s home court on Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m.
