HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: OT goal propels Eagles to victory

Allie Benoit scored with an assist from Nikki Simpao to give visiting Colonial Forge a 3–2 overtime victory against North Stafford on Thurs day.

Amy Dziekowicz and Megan Eastman also scored for the Eagles (12–3), while Callie Nigrelli and Simpao drew assists.

Ellie Greenway and Alex Trimarchi tallied for North Stafford, while Amanda Turner and Sam Barbarczuk added assists.

On Tuesday, Colonial Forge hosts Riverbend and the Wolverines visit Moun tain View.

FIELD HOCKEY

STAFFORD 2, MASSAPONAX 1

Katie Deuell and Natalie Bohmke each had a goal to lead Stafford to a win.

Leah Constantine provid ed an assist for the Indians (13–2).

Kaeleen Johnson was a leader for Massaponax with one goal. Erin Kaila, Maddie McNult and Sam Frain also played well for the Panthers (5–9), who visit Brooke Point on Tuesday.

MOUNTAIN VIEW 9, RIVERBEND 1

Gretchen Geisler had three goals and Bailey McCarthy provided a goal and four assists to help visiting Mountain View get a win.

Olivia Hubert (two), Emily Johnson, Morgan Lowry and Erin Black also scored for the Wildcats (13–1), who host North Stafford on Tuesday.

Riverbend visits Forest Park on Monday.

COURTLAND 2, KING GEORGE 0

Cameryn McLaurine helped Courtland to a home victory with a goal and an assist.

Caroline Mastin also had a goal for the Cougars (8–6), who play at James Monroe on Monday.

 

VOLLEYBALL

MASSAPONAX 3, STAFFORD 0

Erica Cunningham and Makayla Guentner had 17 and 12 assists, respectively, to direct Massaponax to a 25–14, 25–10, 25–11 home victory.

Emily Kilpatrick added seven kills and five digs, and Colleen Beaver finished with six kills and two blocks for the Panthers (15–8).

With a win at Brooke Point on Tuesday, Massaponax can clinch the Conference 15 regular-season title.

COLONIAL FORGE 3, NORTH STAFFORD 0

Madi Porter had nine aces and four kills, and Hope Kelley totaled nine kills for Colonial Forge in its 25–12, 25–14, 25–18 win.

Brooke Sanders added 13 assists, Cameron Scovell six aces and Isis Garcia nine digs for the Eagles (19–4), who host Riverbend on Tuesday.

Capri Clark had three kills and Olivia Buff added an ace for the Wolverines, who visit Mountain View on Tuesday.

SPOTSYLVANIA 3, JAMES MONROE 0

Ashlyn Green had six kills, four digs and an ace, and Brittany Kendrick provided seven kills and five aces to help Spotsylvania secure a 25–5, 25–13, 25–17 win over visiting James Monroe on Senior Night.

Courtney Chmielewski registered six kills and seven aces, and Veronica Lane added three kills, two blocks and two aces for the Knights (12–5), who host Chancellor on Tuesday.

RIVERBEND 3, MOUNTAIN VIEW 0

Shadae Strother had 10 kills and a block, and Peyton Lindblad totaled seven kills to help homestanding River bend get a 25–14, 25–20, 25–20 volleyball win against Mountain View on Thursday night.

Danielle Deiters doled out 26 assists, while Rebecca Statler contributed 13 digs and two kills for the Bears (11–7), who visit Colonial Forge on Tuesday.

The Wildcats host North Stafford on Tuesday.

FREDERICKSBURG CHRISTIAN 3, CHRISTCHURCH 1

Gabby Vess had 15 kills to lead visiting Fredericksburg Christian to a 25–15, 21–25, 25–21, 25–20 win against Christchurch.

Andrea Kuliash had 11 kills and Mary Kathryn Pressley and Marnie Streeter had seven kills each for the Eagles (17–4).

FCS visits Highland on Tuesday.
