HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Burns, Bears net a victory

Madison Burns had six kills and a block, and Danielle Deiters supplied 14 assists and six aces to help Riverbend secure a 25–13, 25–17, 25–13 volleyball win at Chancellor on Monday night.

Rebecca Statler registered 11 digs and six aces, and Shadae Strother added six kills for the Bears (10–6), who visit Brooke Point tonight.

Sydney Murray had eight digs and an aces for Chancellor (2–12), which host James Monroe today.

VOLLEYBALL

BROOKE POINT 3, STONEWALL JACKSON 0

Jasmine Jones had 10 kills and seven blocks to help homestanding Brooke Point get a 25–18, 25–23, 25–21 win.

Cori Jacobsen chipped in nine digs for the Black–Hawks (10–10), who host Riverbend tonight.

FIELD HOCKEY

JM 9, KING GEORGE 2

Miranda Rigg, Hannah Fisher and Rebecca Hamlett each scored three goals in James Monroe’s victory. L.C. King, Catesby Willis and Emma Miller-Richards all had assists.

Kayla Hester and Cailey Doyle scored for the Foxes.

COLONIAL FORGE 12, GAR-FIELD 0

Megan Eastman scored three goals, and Payton Staylor and Maggie Butters had two each in the Eagles’ Conference 4 romp.

Christine Reinaman, Kate Roberts, Nikki Simpao, Emily Flanagan, and Callie Nigrelli also scored. Roberts added four assists and Nigrelli three.

Other assists came from Amy Dziekowicz, Niomi Serrano, Maggie Butters, Lauren Vastano and Nikki Simpao.

Colonial Forge (10–3, 4–1) hosts Massaponax today.

FOOTBALL

FCS GAME POSTPONED

Fredericksburg Christian’s scheduled football game against Norfolk Christian on Monday was postponed for a second time because of wet field conditions. It will be played today at 4 p.m. at FCS.
