We stuck with the playoff question this week … this time around seeing how much you knew about region finals. To be precise, we wanted to see if you knew what current local team had won the most region titles since 1971. (POLL)

This week, the numbers of votes dropped drastically from last week’s record-setting numbers, but we’ll attribute that to the holiday festivities and travel during the week.

OK. Without further delay, here’s your correct answer (total votes received in parentheses):

9 – Courtland (18): According to our records, the Cougars last won a region title in 2010 with a 31-10 victory over Eastern View. Courtland also won titles in 2000, 1991, 1989, 1987, 1985, 1983, 1982, 1981.

Runner-up: James Monroe (33) with with 7 (2011, 2006, 2005, 1996, 1987, 1986, 1971)

Here are the totals for the rest of the current teams in the area have won titles:
