Banner year for area defenses
It was a banner year for defenses in the Fredericksburg area this season, as five teams – three from the Battlefield District alone (James Monroe, Chancellor and King George) – have allowed fewer than 13 points per game.
Five 2012 defenses rank among the top 20 in the area over the last decade in terms of points allowed per game, and two – the Yellow Jackets and Chargers – rank among the top 10.
Here are the top 20 defenses of the last decade.
