Afternoon buses likely to be delayed in Spotsy
Freedom Middle School alerted parents Tuesday afternoon that buses may be delayed.
“Due to an incident at Chancellor High School today, afternoon buses may be delayed in picking up our students which, in turn, may delay them arriving home. This delay may also affect the elementary schools. Please contact your child’s elementary school to determine if the delays will affect them as well,” said the alert.
Students from Chancellor middle and high schools were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat was discovered at the high school.
Students were put on buses to stay out of the cold while the Sheriff’s Office swept both buildings.
Both schools received the all-clear at 3 p.m. Both dismissed with a slight delay. Students who were evacuated prior to their lunch period were served lunch before dismissal, said an alert from Chancellor Middle.
Making a bomb threat is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison for anyone 15 or older.
