Students should bundle up for return to school

Schools are back in session after winter break.

And school officials in Spotsylvania County are reminding parents to bundle up their children during the upcoming cold snap.

Tonight, temperatures will fall to a blistery 6 degrees. Tuesday’s high temperature is forecasted at only 19 degrees, with a low of 11 degrees.

Here is a cold weather warning sent out in an email to parents of Spotsylvania elementary students:

“We start this week off with forecast of dangerously cold weather for Tuesday, Jan. 7. ALL students need to wear coats and cold weather clothing to school during this extreme cold weather event. Students will NOT have outside recess when weather is unsafe to do so.”
