Post Oak Middle closing early because of heating problem
UPDATE: Post Oak heating problem appears to have been fixed. School is slated to open on time on Wednesday.
Here is a release from the school: The maintenance department appears to have fixed our heating problem and we are planning for a normal school day tomorrow. If we are closed an announcement will be sent out prior to school opening. Otherwise we look forward to seeing all students in the morning.
Post Oak Middle School students will be dismissed at 9:40 this morning because of a problem with the school’s heating system.
Below is the news release from the school division.
POST OAK MIDDLE STUDENTS WILL BE DISMISSED AT 9:40 A.M. – TUESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2013
This morning, it was discovered that the heat is not working properly at Post Oak Middle School and it will not be repaired today. Currently it is 65 degrees in the building. Students were able to eat breakfast. However, due to the extreme cold weather, we are sending students home at the end of first block (9:40 a.m.).
Parents may pick up their students at any time and must sign them out at the main office. Students who normally ride the bus will be dismissed on the bus unless the parent notifies the school prior to 9:40 a.m.
Should school be closed tomorrow, an announcement will be sent out prior school opening. If you have any questions, please contact the school at 540-582-7517.
