School Board recognizes Transportation Department bookkeeper/secretary
The Spotsylvania School Board just recognized Heather Handschin, the Transportation Department’s bookkeeper and secretary, for earning the Continuing Education Award at the National Association for Pupil Transportation convention in Memphis, Tenn.
Below are details of her School Board recognition.
Ms. Handschin successfully completed rigorous testing while in Memphis to become a Certified Supervisor of Pupil Transportation (CSPT) with concentrations in Operations, Safety and Training, Special Education, and Vehicle Maintenance. Nationwide, there have been only 40 CSPTs certified since 1990.
In addition, Ms. Handschin received certification as a Certified Pupil Transportation Specialist (CPTS) with concentrations in Dispatch, Routing, Safety and Training, Special Education, and Vehicle Maintenance. She becomes one of only 53 others nationwide who have achieved this certification since 1993.
Finally, Ms. Handschin earned a Special Needs Training Endorsement, becoming only the 33rd person nationwide to do so since 1993.
