Two Spotsylvania elementary schools launch anti-bullying program
Cedar Forest and Riverview elementary schools have kicked off a new anti-bullying program their principals hope will help children throughout their lives and schooling.
The results of a community survey prompted Cedar Forest Principal David Strawn to find a program.
Part of the program includes weekly meetings in each classroom where teachers and students discuss various topics related to bullying.
I sat in on a recent session in the class of third grade teacher Christie Hall.
Look for a story soon in the Free Lance-Star on anti-bullying programs in the Fredericksburg region’s schools.
In the meantime, you can listen to students sing the school’s bully-free chant.
