The Virginia Department of Education today released results of the new math Standards of Learning tests administered during the 2011-12 school year.
Results show that students taking the Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II SOL tests scored 10 to 14 points higher on year-end tests as compared to tests given after the first semester.
State Superintendent of Instruction Patricia I. Wright said in a prepared statement that, “While we have a long climb before we reach the achievement levels we hope to see on the new mathematics tests, the results released today represent a good start and provide a solid foundation for further progress in 2012-2013.”
Below are statewide results. We’re taking a look at results for the Fredericksburg region and will have more information later online and in Wednesday’s Free Lance-Star.
