Spotsylvania doesn’t set record in reading event but Wilderness wins iPads
The Spotsylvania school division just announced that Saturday’s “Read for a Reason” event failed to set a new record for simultaneous readers but the region will get a second chance this spring.
Congratulations to Wilderness Elementary, the school with the most participation. As a result, the school won 10 Apple iPads.
Below is a portion of the statement issued by the school division.
Many thanks to everyone who participated in Read For A Reason and for creating such a positive event last Saturday.
The school with the most participating parents and students was Wilderness Elementary school! Congratulations Wilderness Elementary, on winning 10 new Apple iPads, donated by Spotsylvania Towne Centre.
Regarding the world record attempt, we had a really good turn out; but unfortunately we were just shy of the minimum number to set the record. We will attempt the record again in March 2012, during national reading month. Details will be announced at a later date.
